The Euroleague challenge

Everything is set for the opening night of the Euroleague. Maroussi and Olympiakos will make the start on Wednesday, while Panathinaikos will play on Thursday. What are the coaches saying about the new rising challenge?

Giorgos Bartzokas who led Maroussi -through the qualification round- to the groups of the Euroleague said that "A great journey is about to start and we are really happy to be here. I think that Maroussi deserved to advance and now we are ready to enjoy this experience as the dream becomes the reality".

To add that "we conquered the first goal, but our ambitions are not stopping here. I don't have to convince my players that they have to bring everything on the court, because they know that from the start. This is a great challenge for us and everyone can win". Maroussi will face on 17.45 the last year's finalist CSKA.

Meanwhile on 19.15 Olympiakos will play against Orleanne with Panagiotis Giannakis saying that "we are a facing an athletic team, who tries to find a lot of opens shots and plays an up-tempo game. The "key" for my team is to control the rhythm and not allow the opponent to playing as they are used to.

I always respect the French teams. Orleanne is a difficult opponent as they beat Benneton Treviso. It is the opening game and we are not ready yet. Our first goal is to help the players thing with a straight mind". ...intelligent web software
